Cooking with Elvis

Had an interesting email from cookbook author Pam Whinnery of Paducah, Kentucky. While collecting recipes for Country Goodness Recipes from Tennessee Celebrities, she contacted www.Elvis.com and requested Elvis’s recipe for Banana Pudding. EP Enterprises sent her the recipe with a note saying that Elvis’s cook always had the pudding ready for him in the refrigerator.

Country Goodness Recipes from Tennessee Celebrities, also includes recipes from official Graceland Elvis Tribute performer, Terry Mike Jeffrey (just heard him perform on the Elvis Channel 19 of Sirius Radio), Curtis Young of the Jordanaires, Sun Studio, and Ray Walker who sang with Elvis on his gospel recordings. Other performers who offered recipes include Trace Adkins, Bill Monroe, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and Kenny Rogers. Quite an impressive list of contributors.

Pam compiles her cookbooks for fun, not for profit. She donates 50% of the cover price of $19.95 to organizations that sponsor fundraisers for worthy causes. She says the fun part of book signings is that they take her to a variety of interesting places, including the Out House Races in Gravel Switch, Kentucky and Ladies’ Day Out at Hog Hollow Winery.
